همسفر با مرغ سحر روایتی تصویری است از آخرین تور کنسرت محمدرضا شجریان در آمریکا، با گروه شهناز در سال ۱۳۹۱. در این فیلم مستند یک‌ساعته در سفرِ محمدرضا شجریان به بوستون، نیویورک و واشینگتن‌دی‌سی با او همسفر شدیم، لحظه‌های نابی از زندگی او در پشت صحنه کنسرت‌هایش را ثبت کردیم و پای دردل‌ها و دیدگاه‌های اجتماعی و فرهنگی‌اش نشستیم. در فیلم مستند «همسفر با مرغ سحر»، افزون بر تصاویر و سخنان منتشرنشده‌ی محمدرضا شجریان، زنده‌یاد احسان یارشاطر، دکتر عباس امانت، جان لیمبرت و استاد مجید درخشانی نیز روایت‌شان از محمدرضا شجریان و موسیقی و منش او را بازگفته‌ اند.

In The Company of The Bird of Dawn is a documentary about Master Mohammad-Reza Shajarian an Iranian singer who through his music continues to remain an influential figure in modern Iranian history. Although the production is based on his life and work, it is also a direct window into Iran’s traditional music.
The 60 min film made use of his last music tour concerts in the U.S. in 2012-13. This includes unpublished exclusive interviews with him, Iranian poets, and music/literary critics, original videos and photos from Iran and his trips to Bam, Washington D.C. Boston, NYC, and Virginia.
